For those of you residing in the great state of California and looking for something to do next weekend, take a look here. Next weekend in the lovely city of Santa Cruz there’s about to be an electronic take over of The Catalyst Club that all of you should be in attendance for. If electronic music is your cup of tea that is. On October 10th and 11th the Santa Cruz Music Festival Pre-Party will be taking over this artsy little city for the weekend. The party will be curated by Raindance, Euphoric.Net, Northern Nights Music Festival, Santa Cruz Waves, and Good Times Santa Cruz while they descend on The Catalyst for two nights packed to the brim with a huge variety of big name and local producers from all ends of the musical spectrum. The festivities will be taking place on two separate stages so you will be free to bounce back and forth to appease your musical hunger. On Friday the night will be started with sets from Soulchild, Wu Wei, Tektite, Labrat, Daddy Long Legs, the hip hop lyricism of Vokab Kompany before the night takes hold. As the levels start to rise Hypha, Ill-EshaDJ Dials, and Two Fresh will be setting things off before the nights headliners Starkey and Far East Movement close things out.

On Friday the party starts right around 7pm so for those of you that are constrained to that nine to five should have plenty of time to mosey on down to let loose and start your weekend. Saturday is a different story though, things get cracking at 2pm and the party goes all day long! While all of the early day sets will be taking place at the Atrium stage make sure you get down there early if you have the day off and support some of the smaller acts like Northstar, Stridah, Androyd, El Papachango, The Pirate, and Tree as you work your way into the evening. Later that night Nico Luminous, TastyTreat, Smasheltooth, Vibesquad, and Lafa Taylor will be bringing you a heaping smorgasbord of bouncing bass and hip hop that is sure to get you ready for the nights main attractions. Thriftworks and Gladkill will be closing out the Atrium with a lush arrangement of other worldly transcending bass music while Dimond Saints and The Gaslamp Killer shut down the main stage with what can only be expected to be a vast assortment of bass melodies from all over the spectrum of sound.

Thanks to the kind folks at Santa Cruz Music Festival you will all have the opportunity to land yourselves a free weekend pass!
